Tucson FBA Nuts & Bolts Courtroom Advocacy Series

The William D. Browning Tucson Chapter of the Federal Bar Association is pleased to continue its Nuts & Bolts of Federal Courtroom Advocacy Series.

The series will be held in courtrooms at the Evo A. DeConcini courthouse. We plan on having at least one federal judge participating in each session.

The FBA continues its Nuts & Bolts Series with the following seminars

January 25, 2010; 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm: Defense attorney Walter Nash and Assistant Federal Public Defender Heather Williams will present practical guidance in preparing for sentencing hearings. The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion. The panel will include Judge Bury, Judge Zapata, AUSA Munish Sharda, defense attorney Walter Nash, AFPD Heather Williams, and Supervisory U.S. Probation Officer Jim Cook.

March 8, 2010; 2 pm – 5:00 pm (3 hrs): Magistrate Judge Estrada and other speakers will discuss Mental Competency and Sell Hearings.

March 22, 2010; 2 pm – 5 pm (3 hrs): University of Arizona Law Professor Tom Mauet, co-author of the best-seller, Trial Evidence 4th Edition (2009), will provide tips on effective Cross-Examination.
