On June 4, 2026, FBA Tucson presented its civil seminar on the Magistrate Judge consent process and how it can streamline discovery, motion practice, and trial. This seminar gave attendees an opportunity to hear about the consent process from both District Judges and Magistrate Judges. On June 4, 2026, FBA Tucson presented its criminal seminar where Magistrate Judges gave practical tips aimed to better motion practice and evidentiary hearings. The panel comprised Federal Magistrate Judges including: Hon. Maria Aguilera, U.S. Magistrate Judge; and Hon. James Marner, U.S. Magistrate Judge

On February 19, 2026, FBA Tucson presented its immigration seminar where former AUSA Robert Fellrath presented on the national detention area prosecutions and Federal Public Defender Keith Hilzendeger and Florence Project Attorneys Laura Belous and Katie Ruhl discussed Immigrant Habeas Petitions.

On January 29, 2026, FBA Tucson and the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona presented a semiquincentennial-themed discussion entitled, “Uncommon Ground: The Enduring Legacy of the Declaration.” Dr. Kritchbaum serves as the Assistant Director of Strategic Programs and Education at the National Women’s History Museum and Honored Visiting Graduate Faculty for Teaching American History.

On October 16, 2025, FBA Tucson hosted its annual Bench and Bar for a discussion luncheon with distinguished members of the bench in the District of Arizona. The panel comprised included:

On June 18, 2025, The U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona in conjunction with the Federal Bar Association Phoenix & Tucson Chapters and Step Up to Justice & Community Legal Services presented this free training for volunteer attorneys and those interested in volunteering opportunities in Federal Court.

On May 22 2025, FBA Tucson hosted its tribal seminar where Dr. Moreno presented on the impacts on equity in the legal system.

On May 14, 2025, FBA Tucson hosted its criminal seminar featuring two distinct panels.

Panel A: Best Practices for Working with the U.S. Probation Office (60 min.) Moderator: Caroline Allen, Assistant United States Attorney. Panelists discussed key components of the PSR, its timeline, and common issues. Panelist included: Wendy Cotner, Supervisor, U.S. Probation Office; and Allison Watson, Officer, U.S. Probation Office.

Panel B: Persuasive Sentencing Memoranda and Advocacy (60 min.) Moderator: Michael Perez-Lizano, Assistant United States Attorney. Panelists discussed persuasive sentencing memoranda, courtroom advocacy, and ethical considerations in sentencing advocacy. Panelist included:

On April 23, 2025, FBA Tucson hosted its immigration seminar which discussed current legal issues and strategies including I-9s, Laken Riley Act, and other policy changes under the second Trump administration. Panelists included: Jessica White, Matt Green, Erendira Castillo, and Mo Goldman (moderator).

On March 20, 2025, FBA Tucson presented its civil seminar on settlement conferences, writing effective memorandum and preparing for settlement conferences.

On February 25, 2025, FBA Tucson hosted its bankruptcy seminar which discussed Arizona Proposition 209.
